First Media Tour August 5, 1999
The Media was allowed a SNEAK PEAK at the User Friendly Demonstration home today. The construction crews were still working, in fact the huge window in the main staircase was lifted into place while the press was touring the home with Developer, Patrick Simpson or Architect, MaryAnn Clarke-Scott. Here's a glimpse of what they saw... click on any image to enlarge
Left: Patrick Simpson explains the process
of lowering
the threshold for the shower in the master suite.
Right: MaryAnn Clarke Scott explains how she came to be involved in the project.
The Living Room was a popular area where media types could
pick up a press kit and look at the still photography documenting the project.
In the master bedroom (photo left) Patrick Simpson explains
"how things work..."
and in the utility area just beyond the garage entrance, the tangled web we weave
invisibly
throughout the home for telephone, cable, power, and so forth
is spelled out for clarification in print.
It's what's between the walls that make all the difference in how
well,
and how long a family will be able to use their home.
Everyone seemed eager to learn more about
"User Friendly" building homes for a better future.
